Portraits

A painted portrait shows the essence of a personality. It can be a mirror of the relationship between painter and the portrayed person. Paintingstyle, and color selection are more important than the immediate similarity.

This painting of Lee Krasner shows her inside of a Jackson Pollock painting. She introduced him to many artists, collectors, and critics. In public perception her career as an artist was always put into relation to Pollock, but she was remarkable for her own artistic versatility and advanced skill. She had an intensive training in art theory and is known for revising her style and technique multiple times.
